Update: New date for the exhibition opening on October 25.

After the date originally planned for July had to be postponed, the new date for the exhibition opening “Archive of Worries” as part of the Artist in Residence Siegen program has now been set: Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

The scholarship holders Jenny Kropp and Alberta Niemann (FORT) of the Artist in Residence Siegen program will present the results of their year of residency in Siegen publicly for the first time in an exhibition.

For one year, the artists dedicated themselves to the theme of fear and worry and, in collaboration with the University of Siegen and the Museum für Gegenwartskunst Siegen, built up an “Archive of Worries”. For this purpose, they anonymously collected worries and fears of the population over several weeks. These varied from personal fears such as loneliness, failure, social decline or the loss of loved ones, to fear of war and illness, to late buses or arguments with neighbors.

The exhibition opening for “Archive of Worries” will take place on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall of Siegen (Markt 2, 57072 Siegen). Already at 17.00 a public Artist Talk with the artist duo FORT and guests will take place in the City Hall.

Both events will be held in German.

Information: The reasons for the postponement resulted from delays in the production process of the new artistic work of the artist duo FORT and were beyond the control of the artists and partners. After careful consideration of all options, the program partners together with the artists decided to delay the date.
